Teatro Calderón

The Caderon Theater is the main theater in the city. It is named after Calderón de la Barca, an important Spanish poet. It is located in the center of the city a few meters from the Cathedral, the church of Nuestra Señora de las Angustias or the church of Santa María de la Antigua. In this theater every year the International Week of Cinve of Valladolid (SEMINCI) is celebrated. The theater was inaugurated on November 28, 1864 with the production of Calderón de la Barca's theater , El Alcalde de Zalamea (The Mayor of Zalamea).
