Pasaje Gutierrez

The Gutiérrez Passage was inaugurated in 1886 at the initiative of the merchant Eusebio Gutiérrez. The construction of the Gutiérrez Passage was very rapid—just over a year—and employed the most modern technologies of the time , such as iron roofs, glass tiles, and gas lighting. The passageway has two sections connected by a central rotunda , which houses the statue of Mercury , the god of commerce. Although the passage fell into disuse and abandonment a few years after its completion, the Gutiérrez Passage has now been fully restored and has become one of Valladolid's most important tourist attractions . In the gallery, you'll find several bars and cafes
