Catedral

The history of Valladolid Cathedral has been intertwined with the history of the city . It stands on the site of a Romanesque-style collegiate church built by Count Ansúrez, founder of Valladolid, which now resides within the church .Known as "The Unfinished ," Valladolid Cathedral was an ambitious project by Juan de Herrera that was cut short by the financial difficulties of the time. The temple, as originally planned, would have been one of the largest Christian constructions of the era .The building only extends to the transept and currently lacks one of the towers, as it collapsed in 1841.One of the most interesting parts of a visit to Valladolid Cathedral is the climb to the tower . A panoramic elevator will take you to the Cathedral's viewing platform, more than 60 meters high . From here, you'll get unique views of the city and can see the inside of the bell tower and the clockworks.
