The Santa Maria 12 bulding hosts the dialogue between art and wino. This conversation flows through all its sapaces and especially in the entrance hall, where you will find the great works, and the possibility to admire them with the tasting of our wines, meticulously elaborated in our cellars. Currently we can admire "Ignípolis", collection of René Francisco. Renownd contemporary Cuban artist, recognized for his conceptual approach and his commitment to art as a social tool. He studied at the prestigious Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA) and at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana, where he later became a professor, influencing generations of young artists. Rene Francisco is know for exploring themes related to identify, politics and everyday life in Cuba. His worjs span a wide variety of media, including painting, installation, video art and performace. One of his distincive approaches in community participation, developing collaborative projects that involve local residents and transcend the traditional boundaries of art. He has won numerous international awards, such as the UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of the Arts an Cuba´s National Plastic Arts Prize in 2010, consolidating his exhibited in important galleries and biennials, hishlighting his contribution to cultural and social debates boh inside and outside of Cuba. "Casa Rosa" 2018 (Acrylic on tele, 170x250 cm) welcome us at Nexus Santa Maria to accompany us with the series Cajas trhroughout the bulding. This Collection enters in connection with Nexus Santa Maria, rehabilitated historic bulding projected in 1927, hand in hand with our wines from Nexus & Frontaura Wineries.
